On July 15, 2026 I upgraded my kit to a professional, mirrorless setup with a dedicated macro lens! As a result I also had to upgrade my processing workflow.

I am currently using the Nikon z7 ii camera. My lenses are the Nikkor 40 / 2, the Nikkor MC 105 /2.8 S, and the Tamron 50-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD. I have had to switch to Adobe Lightroom Classic because it has the processing power to handle the new 48mpx RAW files the Nikon z7 ii produces.

All photographs taken prior to July 15, 2026 were shot with Canon EOS Rebel T7, a solid beginner to intermediate DSLR camera. I most often used the Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM zoom lens. I also used the Canon EFS 24mm prime, the Canon EF 50mm prime, and the Canon EFS10-18mm. I had been using Adobe Lightroom desktop, a lightweight cloud based version of Lightroom when working with the Canon’s smaller 24mpx RAW files.
